Did not plan hike. Stopped At Three Rivers TH and reviewed trails nearby and decided to go up Three Mile Creek to Deer Creek Trail and then loop back via Abyss Lake Trail. Three Mile Creek was pleasant gradual incline with multiple creek crossings that were easy to cross with well maintained log. Last mile had multiple easy switchbacks with nice views of Pikes Peak to the south. Deer Creek Trail was a wide open grass valley with Grand views of Bierstadt and Evans. Abyss Lake Trail was downhill but less eventful. It defended into a dry Pine Forest mix with old fire damaged trees. To return to Three Rivers TH, I followed Gonala Pass road and used horseback and old mining roads that followed the paved roads. A two car shuttle is recommended. Not the safest route with vehicle traffic.
