Quebec Run Exploratory 11-8-2015
Planned as an exploration to locate rock outcroppings above Tebolt Run in Quebec Run Wild Area. Starts at Wirsing School Rd parking area. The hike was aborted due to illness. The initial 1 mile or so talks you up to a T-junction with the Telbolt Trail. From there it is a bushwhack up the hogback ridge over Tebolt Run. The ridge is loaded with rhododendron thickets, mtn laurel, and greenbrier. Very difficult to traverse. We did not locate the rocks before we quit, but we were close. Google Earth indicates they were a little further north of us along an obvious escarpment. At this point we aborted, first climbing to the summit of the ridge, then down to the Hess Trail and then out to Skyline Drive. The intended hike was to turn east on Hess Trail and loop back around to Tebolt Trail to the parking area. It would have been 8 or so miles long.
