Absolutely magnificent route. Very well marked. The ascent from the west is often very steep with some scrambling up dusty well-used paths. The view from the summit (which is flat and easily navigated) is staggering. The descent on the east side is unusually steep, with some climbing around and over boulders and some narrow paths where you don't want to look down. People ascend on both sides, but the ascent from the west seems much easier. After the descent on the east side, a lot of trudging to get back to the car park with good views of Har Ardon from the bottom. No water. Take plenty, take your time and enjoy the views. Very nice on a cool winter day but rain could create very slippery surfaces - watch the weather. If you must do this in the summer, start at first light. No shade anywhere. Highly recommended.
