Lows to Oswegatchie 5/14
Spring run- do it during freshet and pre- black flies and it will be grand. Easily done in three days, could do it in two if you are not into sightseeing and fishing. My entry via Horseshoe outlet was due to the Lower Dam closure, normal launch site should be available by mid 2025. Make time for an extra day or two on the Os, the trout fishing is grand- bring a frypan. The longer portage is mostly flat and non-technical, easy for a single carry and great for fast run-backs if you are double portaging. Don't forget to leave a note in the registration mailbox just past Big Deer Pond. There's a new campsite right at the portage trailhead for an early start the next morning. Best campsite on the Os is High Rock, which you can also access from the CL 50 or High Falls Loop if you are hiking.
