Beautiful hike at the peak of spring flowers and just as leaf buds were opening at lower elevations. Includes a spectacular view to the east over Ashokan Reservoir from a faint side trail to the right just 20 meters or so before the peak of Peekamoose that is not marked on NYNJTC maps. There are three other viewpoints shown on the the NYNJTC map, but the first of those has become overgrown. The other two are just as you reach the 3500'elevation and a minute or two beyond the peak of Table Mountain from a side trail before the steep descent begins. A bonus after the hike: The Blue Hole on Rondout Creek, Buttermilk Falls on a side stream a mile or two to the east, and several other waterfalls along Peekamoose Road in the area that will vary according to time of year.
