Somewhat off the beaten path. Very isolated. Follow the "Flow Road" road off of route 30/28 which is closed during the winter. At the time of this hike this road was used for logging, we didn't see any logging occurring. And only saw one other truck on the road the whole time we were there. The road is rough and rocky and seems to go back forever, 4 WD recommended. There's a sign (eventually) for a road off to the right for Barker Pond. Follow this road even further for the trail parking, in a clearing. The trail is a little further up the road off to the right. There are wooden signs with arrows for directions. The path was overgrow, but with the blue trail markers fairly easy to follow. Short and sweet you'll come to Barker Pond (larger than expected). There are camping discs posted in this area and would make for a great spot to back-woods camp. We didn't stay long, we saw what appeared to be semi-fresh feces of a large size and incredibly dense woods to the front, a perfect habitat for bears. It was cool but for the trip length on overly bumpy and rough road, it probably wasn't worth it. This hike is one of the "easy" options of the 4-3-2-1 Way (Indian Lake) Challenge.
