Possibly my favorite year-round suburban hike in SoCal. 80% shaded by beautiful oaks and eucalyptus, and 20 creek crossing (water flows all year from Puddingstone Reservoir) opportunities each way on this three mile out and back track with very little elevation gain (almost all of it at the trailhead). Can stop at a picnic area one mile out (after four creek crossings), two miles out (after 8 more creek crossings) or three miles out, near the end of the trail (9 more creek crossings!). We usually turn around at the 2nd picnic area (mile marker 2), but today I went to the end of the trail and back.
