Did this trail in a counterclockwise direction today. It might be easier to do it clockwise instead: more downhill instead of uphills. The elevation of the trail runs from about 9700 feet up to about 10,800 feet at its highest point. Most of it is in the 9800-10,400 ft range. Consider changing to a different trail after the TV and radio towers to avoid the very large rocky trail in the touristy areas near the trim. Survey trail perhaps? Watch for The Rock Cairn at the far north end where Ellis connects to Northcrest. Go right for a wall and a beautiful view and a great lunch spot, just a little ways. Going in the counterclockwise direction, it is at about mile 4.0.
