The views of the gorge at the start of the hike were great. The scenic overlook was also pretty today. There hasn’t been much rain so the trail was very dry today and there were hardly any bugs. Almost all of the Buckeye Trail here coincides with bridle trails, which were frequently wide and gravel-surfaced (which Winnie didn’t enjoy). The many mountain-biking trails and occasional spots of hiking-only trails were natural-surfaces and much narrower and more interesting. Not much seclusion; we were never far from the road or a picnic area. With Winnie.
