Wooded hike on forested ridges above many ravines. Forest Point Trail and Pine Grove Trail were very manicured—wide, recently cleared of leaves, and gravel paved. The offshoot (the sign said to Camp Manatoc and Camp Butler) was natural and unmanicured. That trail kept going, but where I turned around there was a “private property” sign, facing the other way (suggesting I had just come through private property). The portion of the Ledges Trail I did was rugged—very rocky. You have to cross a long lawn by the Octogon to get to the start of the Forest Point Trail; it was swampy today. Very few other people on this extremely cold day (real feel in teens/20s). With Winnie.
