Trail was muddy, but in good shape. Started at summit trailhead and decided to get the road crossing over with first. Didn't run into any other humans until we were quite a ways into the hike. Some gunshots were heard in the distance, which displeased my dog. Ran into a few others in the Gales Creek section, but otherwise mostly glorious solitude and the rain didn't really start until we were almost to our vehicle.
