Traveling south from the Coal Road (FS42) to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The weather was dry and the water holes were low. The pictures show something of what’s down there in those holes. Be cautious in the deep spots of rocks and debris. These holes can be quite deep when they are full. Please be respectful of this area. There is an illegal route that is heavily travelled and washes/erodes badly. It is NOT the designated trail. There is an alternate route that begins above (when heading south on the trail) the illegal trail. It was marked with a sign, but assholes removed it. The posts are still there and the trail is indicated on the map. Please don’t be an asshole.
