Doing the loop counter clockwise from the Smarts Brook Trail, the unmarked Tri-Town Trail departs on the right side of the Smarts Brook Trail early on. There is no trail sign. Do not go straight at this first junction if you want to be on the Tri-Town Trail. We also took a short side trip up Smarts Brook past the Yellow Jacket junction to visit a beaver pond.
