Riding with D&D. Beautiful area (pics) fun + challenging loop many CONTINUOUS uphill RUTTED climbs with large root and Rock obstacles throughout ride. With wet and rainy condition + sharp treacherous switchbacks w/ steep descents same with large tree roots mutated structures and rock obstacles continuous throughout ride. Pucker up asshole style narrow trails throughout w/ steep sidehill drop offs at times (see pic of husky wipe out in ravine). Awesome ride but definitely challenging for my level + D& D are fast riders . 2 inches rain in the 3 days prior to the ride. Some mud but mostly great ashy/rocky dirt with Other fun challenges like crossing small river “pick a smart line or gettin really wet” , 5 miles of ride was on service road. Trail miles probably about 30. 93% effort. 2500 calories Heavy arm pump was challenge. Husky stalled out several times mid steep climb or over obstacle killed my momentum and sucked energy to handle bike. and slowed me down. faster is better to keep lines. Thought I was in decent shape but was wrong. Cardio stats hrs;min; zone1=15:45, zone2 = 1:36, zone3=1:54, zone4=1:08, zone5=30:15. With 30 minute or so break at camp, could have done another 10 miles.
