A tornado that peaked at EF4 with a track 41 miles long and reaching 1700 feet in width crossed Bartlesville on May 6, 2024. Thankfully it was only EF1 by the time I hit Bartlesville. It damaged homes in southwest Bartlesville, atop Circle Mountain, and some homes and businesses in far north Bartlesville near the former Tuxedo community near Tuxedo and Washington Boulevards. But much of its track through town crossed along the Caney River floodplain. It passed just southeast of Bartlesville High School, and the nearby section of the Pathfinder Parkway trail system had extensive tree damage. The entire Parkway reopened at the end of June after volunteers and city crews had cleared it and addressed nearby damaged trees.
