Visited on Monday 4/22/19. Ample parking. It was moderately busy. Saw a kayaker fishing. Took a break in hiking to eat lunch by a tree next to the lake and I soaked my feet in the water for a bit. Beautiful area and lots of hiking options. After hiked rattlesnake ledge. Lots of people on this trail. I'd call this hike easy to moderate. Hiked 4.8 miles, 1211 elevation gain, 3hrs16mins hiking time. Hiked only to the first ledge. Did this trail after we had hiked Mt. Si via Teneriffe road trail. Porta potties at trailhead were the most clean. Vaulted toilets were smelly, it was also later in the day when we started. Had about 10 or 15 minutes on the ledge and then the rain started and it was getting socked in fast.

This is a really popular hike, but what can I say? I just don't love it... Yes, it has beautiful views from various lookout points, but I just don't appreciate it as much as the other super popular hikes in the area (Little Si, for example, that has such gorgeous woods). If you're looking for something not too hard, with nice views and not far from the city, this isn't a bad choice. I do like that there's a lake at the bottom for swimming... I don't love the quantity of people, who seem to be more squished together at the viewpoints than on other trails. That said, if you continue further up, you'll have more space to yourself.
