This was for a NACMO.org event. It was a great ride but muddy due to rains. The connection between 7,8 trail and 5 was a mule trail. If you ride a little farther west about 100 - 500 yards you will find the real connecting trail not seen on maps and much easier on the horses.
Very nice event. Highly recommend NACMO trail treasure hunting events 👍🏼

This is one of the most interesting trails in LBL. Loaded with historical artifacts from the old Star Lime Works town that was flooded with impoundment of the Ky Lake for the Ky Dam. Most of the artifacts on the trail are from the old limestone quarry which operated from the around the civil war era by a man named Louis Vogle, until the TVA took it over in the late 1930’s and used the quarry’s limestone for the construction of the Ky Dam.

You can hike various loops and see some historic lime mining artifacts. Water can be filtered from beaches. And old family cemetery also exists. You can also MTB this trail, at least 95%.

It started well, but the storm damaged trees were sad to look at, so we turned back.

My son and I had a great day exploring the trails of LBL in our Jeeps and set up camp in a great site on the lake shore.

The Kentucky side is really hilly. The trail is good though. Nice views.
