Patchy snow in places. Snowmelt meant lots of flowing water, which was nice to see but also meant we had to be careful where we stepped since neither of us had waterproof shoes. Extremely windy during the middle of the hike. Other than that, perfect weather. Beautiful location. Would love to go there again when it's a little less wet.

Nice scenery, decent temperature. Some really cool rocks. Only complaints are that the ground was pretty wet in some places from snowmelt, and the middle part of the hike was very windy.

This is a really quiet trail that goes off into the Northeast section of the park. Didn’t see any elk, but lots of fresh tracks and heard one bugling in the distance. Mild uphill for the first mile and then mild downhill. Very easy going.

Great hike to do in mid to late September—beautiful view from the top of Valle Grande and opportunity to hear Elk bugling in season. A bit strenuous in places but in a lovely forest for the most part.

This road is closed. It’s Pueblo de cochiti tribal lands. It is baracaded by concrete barriers and steel gates.

Sandy Zocher and Patty decided to see some early fall colors so we chose this hike.
Saw a fox on the way home.

This is a great view of caldera. Rabbit fridge trail is not a poop. The map show a trail going off east side. It is impacted by blowdown and requires bushwhacking.
