Somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. It’s an easy hike but note there is rarely any shade. Still we took our pup in September and the sand was not hot and we had plenty of water and rest stops. The two trails to the overlook can be hard to find from the lower trail accessed from the main the parking area. The lower trail walks along the sandy riverbed.
The overlook trails are just that. If you want just the overlook go to the second entrance; it’s less obvious but is a wider and shorter walk. It’s just down the road from the main parking lot.

We did this hike in December; it was dry, cold, and we were the only ones there on a Saturday morning. There are some nice formations on this loop, however the walk in/out is fairly long and boring. Of the 5 hikes we did over 2 days in this area this was our least favorite. There's plenty of good stuff to see here, but if your time is short it might be better spent elsewhere.
