Rifle Camp Park consists of 169 acres in Woodland Park and is named after a rifle corp that camped nearby during the Revolutionary War. Peppered throughout the park along the 3 trails are fitness stations that are not well maintained. The park contains an Amphitheater that is used for outdoor events, a nature center and astronomical observatory. The park is family friendly and young children will enjoy the nature center (call for hours). Deer and wild turkey can be seen in abundance.
The park entrance is on Riflecamp Rd and the road goes to the top of the park where it ends at the nature center. Along the way there are 4 parking lots. There are 2 restrooms in the park but they are not always open. The best place to park is at the nature center which provides access to all the trails. The Yellow Trail follows the outer perimeter of the park along the cliffs and the Great Notch Reservoir.
The park is open from sun-up to sun-set.
The park has camping platforms/shelters that are used mostly by the scouts (permit required).
Dogs are no longer allowed in the park.
