AllAs the name suggests, a cool hike: breezy up til the canyon and shady once in it. Rocky trail that’s not marked very well, but forks usually meet up with one another. We made it to the little pool of water and skipped the scramble to the “waterfall “ (just a trickle now, we weee told)

This is my first solo difficult trail hiking. Steep boulder descent and a lot of scrambling at certain locations.

Calico Tanks is beautiful! From the final peak you can see down into the red rocks of Calico Valley and all the way out past the Vegas Strip. Wide open breathtaking views. The trail itself is well-marked and features many rock staircases for most of the ascent, although there is just a little of sandstone slope as well. This time I went through the dry lakebed, but if there is water you'll need to venture off to the right and look for a trail...you'll still get to the amazing views! Have fun!

Oak Creek to First Creek loop via Wilson Saddle. Great hike that requires some rock scrambling with no fall zones on slabs.

Nice easy trail loop with beautiful views all around. Just need to watch out for the temperature, as even if you come in the morning, it can still get extremely hot quickly. There is no shade on the trail and a single bench at the halfway point.

Great low to moderate scramble with generally good rock quality and easy route finding. Tons of fun options at the tip top!

Easy trail, only a couple technical spots (climbs) but overall great views. Signs said no camping but saw a few scattered fire rings.

This was a great bike loop. The views were amazing. January temperature was perfect for keeping us cool.

It was a fun hike, fairly simple. It starts off as a dirt path then turns into sand (if you regular shoes prepare to go home with sand socks), and then the last stretch is mostly climbing up rocks. Best to go early in the day to avoid too many people, I started around 7:30am which was perfect. The view at the end is great but nothing super extraordinary. Over all it was a good experience.

Great views along an easy incline if you go from Calico II to the Sandstone Quarry.

An unexpected trail to a babbling brook, and beyond that brook a bit of unmatched Trail, revealing a lush, cactus landscape over easily traversed topography.

Off-roading in my CanAm x3. This is a skinny pedal ride. Do it before it gets hot. Mid-April is perfect.

We had a blast and easy time doing a traverse of Kraft mountain. We went south to north but both ways would be great.

If you’re going to the waterfall, I would rate this trail hard. Trail isn’t well defined after the first mile. it’s not difficult to track the stream, but you should be very nimble if you’re attempting.

Warning. The map is not accurate and will not take you to the tree. The map shows to turn left instead of crossing the road. Beware.

Very fun MTB Trail. Make sure you have experience and the proper equipment. A XC mountain should be fine but an Enduro is absolutely the way to go on this ball buster.

Fun, easy family hike. We take our 5 year old and puppy. There is some gentle scrambling to get up to the view spot, but nothing crazy. Interesting rocks and trail, good views and a short distance. There is a sandy wash, so be ready for that. We do this hike regularly since it is a short, family hike.

Beautiful hike in Red Rock Canyon NCA. Didn't have time before sunset to head onto the rocks.

There is a lot of rock climbing and scrambling on this hike after walking through a gravel and then sandy wash. The end of the hike (to the view point) is not marked and requires climbing to see the view. We would not take this hike again.

First mile is flat and then gets rocky. There sure 3 paths (red, green, white) to go up. Keep an eye on the rocks for the paint. You can hop between the paths they all go to the same place.

Started at gravel lot & went all the way across to Spring Mtn Ranch, where we ran into the fence at the NE corner of the property. We followed the fence for a while & then bushwacked back to the cars at First Creek. Could've read the club hike description

Nice short hike. Hell hill is always a challenge but after you get done there, the rest of the way is away from the sun. Did it with my 63 lb. pup which was a challenge because there are about 3 spots that require bouldering or sliding on your butt. But we got it done. The colors on the rock are worth the time to do this hike.

It’s a fun hike with a few challenges. If you go clockwise on the trail(as I always have), you have a decent ascent about half a mile in. Once up there, though, it’s all relatively level or downhill. Sometimes you have to figure out your path to get down into the backside canyon, and there’s one point where you’ll either have to “slide” down about 12-15 feet or crawl through a tiny hole to reach an area that’s a little bit more easy to climb down. It’s definitely the most challenging portion of the hike. After that, it’s all gravy. It’s a beautiful hike with soaring cliffs on each side, and in the final 1 mile stretch, you’ll typically run into boulder climbers who are always nice to say “hello” to. I hope you enjoy hiking around Kraft Mountain!!!

This is not an easy trail. If your starting from red springs it’s a pretty easy trail. Once you enter the cross canyon part it’s a lot of brush popping and rock scrambling. And it’s very easy to lose the trail. Look for the most footprints for the correct way. And absolutely use gps or compass.
