Beautiful section of trail especially since it follows a fire line for a good 1.5miles.

Great fundraiser Trail Ride for St. Jude’s put on by the Williams Family. New Dogwood blossoms were lovely, with low 70’s temperatures made for a wonderful ride.

Cool trail. Lots of water crossings. Be careful during rain. Creek gets high fast.

I have hiked this trail several times and it’s always a good hike. Trail was in good shape, only muddy in a few spots but nothing bad. Had no problem with the water crossings.

Very nice trail. Middle 4 miles were relatively level. Great views and quite a few water features. Hiked on a Monday and never saw a sole. Road to trail head probably requires a vehicle with high clearance and probably 4WD for one stretch about 100 feet long on a hairpin turn. Ready of the road is great.

I am 69 years old so it was perfect. Hills were pronounced but not killers. Lots of trees down and trail washout so be sure to download your map. I usually had no problem getting g back in trail. Good basic wilderness trail.

Great two day hike if you do the loop. Joe’s Creek was low but flowing enough for water refill. Lots of downed trees on west and north parts of the loop. Views and sunset are incredible. Campsites plentiful.

Trail is clear and fairly easy. The loop takes about two hours to ride. The Spring is a nice stop for lunch.

River Springs Chapter of Back Country Horsemen of Missouri worked on the Unknown Soldier Loop from Hwy F TH of the Wappapello Section of the Ozark Trail. Several trees were cleared off the trail.

Great ride from camp by handy road to falling spring down hurricane creek past Turners Mill and back the Bear pin road. Great fall colors

We cut through on a ridge to get to McCormack Lake sooner to make a shorter loop. Probably too rough on foot.

The Whites Creek Trail was absolutely stunning on horseback and definitely did not disappoint. There were some rather rough steep rocky ledges along the river section and I definitely am glad we chose to go counterclockwise and take the north loop first. Between mile 10 and 14 it can get a little tricky to follow the trail but as long as you’re using your GPS trail map it’s easy to get back on track. Bliss spring was absolutely beautiful and we were glad we took the spur Trail to go view the float camp. It was every bit of 20 miles but well worth it.

If the North Fork River is too high to cross, the Jesse James trail is good to ride if you like up and down trails through trees.

Nice trail with lots of up and downs. New firebreaks will look better with time. They add options for looping.

Great views, something for all levels, overlanding camp sites, maintained roads, cell service. Can get busy, good if you need help, best time to go when trees are bare for the best views. Great for night time off roading. 40ish minutes from Casey’s to air back fully.
Restroom and concert stage at the GTT lookout.

Good camping at trailhead then 10 miles to a beautiful vista. Camped there, then 7 miles back to the trail head. We did the Big Piney normally in the winter snow & fall. It was our favorite trail during our working years. Normally no tent needed. Good Missouri forest scenery with great exercise.

This is a nice easy section of the trail. There are few good views, but it’s mostly easy trail along creeks and through some nice pine and oak stands.

Trail was in terrible shape. Lost it multiple times. Overgrown, no river access. Never do this one again. This was the least enjoyable hike I’ve ever done.

Good hike, a little hard to find the trail at times, BEAUTIFUL in the fall with the leaves changing.
