MOSQUITOS. They swarmed us while in the Subaru. Maybe we shouldn’t have left the car running 🙄. We only walked 2.27 miles to our site. Arrived around 9:30ish. First night in our new tent (Zpacks triplex). Day one shake down for JMT. We’re planning on making a dinner but opted out after being bombarded by mosquitos by the lake side. We set up the tent and hid out until after sun set. we feasted on snickers, Twix and two beers! After sun set we snuck out to brush our teeth and hide the beer box. Now for bed!

This is a road, not a hike. Road is curvy with no shoulder and would be dangerous to walk
★
Mostly well marked with blazes, not overly scenic, but a very good hike.

Short, well maintained trail. Posts along the way with historical description of the mining community from the mid 1800’s.

It was pure swamp for about half the trail. Use in emergencies only. If you do Khulna it, I’d recommend tall, waterproof boots and a head net for the bugs.
