Many local citizens know the Pinckneyville City Park as the Perry County Fairgrounds. But in truth the "Fairgrounds" is owned and maintained by the City of Pinckneyville. The City Park offers playground equipment, a six-tenths mile asphalt walking path, baseball and softball diamonds, picnic pavilions, basketball, roller blade and tennis courts, and a swimming pool. Restroom facilities are on site. The City Park has five pavilions and the exhibition hall for rent as well as several camping spaces with water and electric hookup available. The park is home to many events including demolition derbys, the Perry County Fair, Family Night in the Park, two annual American Thresherman Association shows, and an Auto Parts Swap Meet, and much more. Call 618-357-5214 for information and pavilion/camping space reservations.
