Arrived by 9:30 and parking lot was full but not to 100%. Passed folks on the trail but it didn’t feel crowded. Did this hike clockwise and found epic views after climbing to the crest, continued on the ridge for the first half of the hike. Then dropped down and headed back towards the TH amongst lakes and wild flowers. Not bothered by bugs today, had a light sprinkle of rain.

This was a great trail for running. I didn’t have time to do the whole loop but will defo come back in the future to do it!

This is a hearty loop that is longer than the app says. More like 6.5 miles and 4-5 hours. Half all down half all up. Some beautiful flowers, Aspen forests, conifers and even oak. The Farmers Trail part is shared with the Palisade Plunge, it we did not see any riders. We were fortunate that we had a cool rainy day in July, it would be tough in the heat. And as always on the Grand Mesa in July . . . Mosquitoes. Spray down with repellent and take it with you.

Beautiful hike. Great views. Overall the trail is in good shape, but there are lots of down trees across the trail.
