Sanborn County Park is a park in Santa Clara County, CA. It's on the East side of the Santa Cruz Mountains, in the hills above Saratoga, with an upper boundary at Skyline Drive. The park is mostly forested, with some stands of redwoods. There are over 22 miles of hiking trails with more available by Skyline Drive including the Bay Area Ridge Trail and the adjacent Castle Rock State Park.
Getting Started
The main entrance to the park is on Sanborn Road, two miles up Hwy 9 from Saratoga center, then a mile along Sanborn Road. Vehicle entry here is $6, payable using cash or credit card at the entrance station. There are other entry points (with limited space) for hiking where there is no fee, including at the end of Sanborn Road for entry to the Lake Ranch Trail, on Black Road at the start of the John Nicholas Trail, and on Skyline Blvd near Sunnyvale Mountain. You can also park for free just outside Castle Rock State Park and follow the Bay Area Ridge Trail into the park.
