This is the old way to drive to South Bass Trailhead from Tusayan, however road 328 is currently (3/13/2024) blocked by a locked gate where it enters the Havasupai lands just west of Cecil Dodd Tank, because the Havasupai reservation is not open to visitors at this location. See https://www.nps.gov/grca/planyourvisit/upload/South-Bass-Trailhead-Access.pdf
All of this route is on dirt roads, and is not scenic. It would be a moderately unpleasant hike

Hiking the rim and upper regions akin to cloud walking -with downward views for miles

Not a well kept trail. The fallen trees along the path were cut so you can pass. Not well traveled and can see why.

Gravel and/or dirt roads to north rim overlooks. Many informal campsites in this area and beautiful forest scenery.

Good campsite, very remote. 2 wheels drive ok if not wet but some highly clearance might me required.

Miserable. FS219X is overgrown with thorny bush and small trees. Even when you can find the old road, huge deadfall forces you off the “path”, after which you have re-find the road. Probably should have just cut over to 219 once I saw how bad it was.

Short hike but really pretty looking at the canyon, even tho there was not water in it. Go back in the spring!!

I was unable to do as much as wanted to do on the trail because this trail is very poorly marked. I took me for ever to find the correct foot path, even after I asked a few rock climbers nearby they also had no idea where the trail was. Maybe someday I will complete this trail. It is very scenic though.

Great off-road trail for the scenery! Gentle decent through the canyon to a steeper decent just outside the park. Enter Utah toward the end. Much of the middle 2/3 is burned out from a recent fire. Still worth the trip!

You can see the Grand Canyon without going into the village - and paying the fee. It’s an easy route for most vehicles - I was in to 2WD the whole way there. On the way there you can stop and climb the Grandview lookout tower. After that you easily get to great viewpoints of the south rim. For anyone overlanding, this route has a ton of dry campsite opportunities.

A nice beautiful trail that can be a little challenging to follow because of the light foot traffic. It is nice and scenic and I didn’t see anyone on the trail. The trail is just to short for me.

It is a nice trail but parts of it are badly marked but you can figure it out because you’re just supposed to go around the lake. On the shoreline there is a lot of trash because of fishers. It took me around 53 minutes. It is a nice scenic trail but it could be better.

This is mainly just a technical dirt road with nice camping spots along side the road. If you do decide to camp near the road there will be other vehicles driving fast nearby. It is scenic though.

Beautiful dirt trail that has nice scenery and a nice little lake. It was packed when I went on 4th of July. This is just a dirt road.

An enjoyable hike. I did it clockwise from the Sycamore Falls trailhead, doing the climb up KA hill fairly early. I started at 4:45 am to avoid the heat of the day. I was lucky enough to see a coyote near the old sawmill site.
Sycamore Falls was dry, but there was water in Pomeroy Tanks and in the marshes and pools near LO Spring.

A great hike that ends in a great campsite with a panoramic view of the Colorado River gorge. Easy walk from the overlook to the campsite.

Trail is completely overgrown with large bushes that have big sharp thorns. Nearly impassable without a suit of armor.
