The May Lake Trailhead is on the eastern side of Yosemite, accessed just off of Tioga Pass Road, a mountain pass that takes you past Tuolumne Meadows to the eastern exit of the park. A 2.5 mile roundtrip hike to May Lake is worth the stop where you'll find breathtaking views from the high alpine lake without the typical Yosemite crowds. If you're doing a longer hike such as a the Ten Lakes loop, this trailhead provides bear boxes for you to store your items in while you explore the backcountry.
Access the May Lake Trailhead just off of Tioga Pass, or highway 120.
Parking is limited but you'll find a vault toilet and bear boxes for backcountry hikers.
