Cannon Beach has a variety of activities and has much to offer. From the wonderful restaurants and breweries; to hiking trails and scenic views. Ecola State Park directly north of Cannon Beach has much to offer to the outdoor and nature lover. Leaving the town of Cannon Beach follow the signs up a narrow, winding paved road through dense forest. There is no parking allowed along the sides of the road, however there are two main parking areas where a $5 fee is required. There is an electronic pay station that takes credit/debit cards as well as state park passes are honored. Along with many historical hiking trails there is the main lookout. From several view points there is a wide view point of the Pacific Ocean as well as a view back into Cannon Beach. This areas has many picnic tables some of them are covered. At this look out there are regular restrooms and at Indiana Beach there are pit toilets. Another great area near here is Saddle Mountain which is off of highway 26 in the coast range. It also offers many great hiking opportunities. Be on the lookout for coastal Rosevelt Elk as well as other wildlife in the area.
