Medano Pass Primitive Road
This is not a technical trail, a stock vehicle should be able to travel it. Creek crossing no less than 8 times. Be sure to inquire about water levels as creeks can become impassable during/after storms. Within 5 miles of the entrance is the National Preserve Portion of the National Sandunes Natl Park. From this point on there are 21 marked campsites on first come first served basis.
Summit is over 9,000' in elevation, the east sideis steeper so be aware of off camber sectons esp. during rain or snow events.
