Fire Wave VALLEY OF FIRE
Overview
This is a easy out and back trail to Fire Wave in Valley of Fire State Park. About half of the hike is in soft sand, which can be tiring.
This trail goes by Fire wave trail. It is within the Valley of Fire State Park. There is a $10 entrance fee. http://parks.nv.gov/parks/valley-of-fire. Here is map detailing the trails within the park http://parks.nv.gov/forms/Valley_of_Fire_Map_1_SE_HWY_162_NET_otln_reduced_2014-02-10.pdf.
Getting Started
I found that this trail is not on the (online) trails map of this park. To get to this trail. You drive towards the White Doom Loop trail head on White Domes Road (going north). And this trail, is the parking area BEFORE the White Domes Trail Head. It is the 2nd to last parking spot, on the map http://parks.nv.gov/forms/Valley_of_Fire_Map_1_SE_HWY_162_NET_otln_reduced_2014-02-10.pdf. At 36.48819 / -114.52894. On your left is parking, and on your right is a trail sign, of the beginning of the trail. You can also search the Seven Wonders trail, this starts at the end of the Fire Wave Trail, creating a loop. Vrs the Fire Wave Trail itself is an in and back trail.
