Mount Massive
DO NOT TRY TO SHORTCUT IF I GET OFF THE TRAIL: Ended up in massive rockfall field, super dangerous.
Bring more dog treats.
Left home just after 5:45, got to the trailhead about 7:15 because of a long detour, unlike last Sunday when there were half a dozen vehicles at the base.
No one was up here today: no other vehicles in the uppermost lot, and only 1 person on the trail. Half a dozen at the top, who went the easier route.
Morning was quite a bit colder than last time
1.5 miles and just over half an hour from parking to where the Massive summit trail branches off from North Halfmoon Lakes trail.
Good lesson: Keep one foot in front of the other, just keep going.
