Dark Angel via Devils Garden Loop
Overview
This is a loop trail through the Devil's Garden area of Arches National Park that ranges from easy to very difficult as it passes some of the park's most famous landmarks. The segment of the trail to Tunnel Arch and Pine Tree Arch is flat and easy. The trail continues to Landscape Arch, the longest arch in North America and one of the the park's best views.
The trail becomes more difficult as it passes side trails to Partition Arch and Navajo Arch, and it follows sandstone fins as it leads to the magnificent Double O Arch. There is a side trail to the Dark Angel tower after Double O Arch.
It is possible to return to the parking lot on the same trail you took in, or you can take the most difficult Primitive Trail to complete the hike as a loop. This trail requires rock scrambling and following cairns along slickrock. A side trail from this segment leads to Private Arch.
