Magruder/Selway Alt
After reading people's journals and watching what Dan Nokes and the WWT guys went through in the Selway Bitterroot I wanted to find a better way from the Salmon River to the Stateline Trail, to avoid all of the abandoned/nonexistent trail on the Guidebook route. This is a long walk on the McGruder road but it's mostly on the ridge, the views are awesome, and traffic is pretty sparse. There is water running across the road at fairly consistent intervals. This turned out to be pleasant, easy walking and a good way to connect with the incredible Selway River Trail.
