Overview

Opened in 2017, Eugene’s newest segment of the Ridgeline Trail system provides the opportunity to enjoy rare upland prairie and oak habitat with views of Spencer Butte and the West Eugene Wetlands. From the trailhead at the intersection of Bailey Hill and S. Bertelsen roads, the trail winds uphill to Bailey View Prairie. Gravel and unimproved roads connected to the trail add opportunities for loops and exploration of the 250-acre park. Visit in early spring to enjoy this park’s namesake, wild iris.

This is a moderate loop trail in Wild Iris Ridge.

This trail goes by Wild Iris Ridge Summit.

Getting Started

Park at the lower trailhead and head up the trail. Careful not to park on the road.

Taking Children

This is a good hike for children who can handle switchbacks. There are a lot of wildlife viewing opportunities.
