Overview
This is a moderate out and back trail to Wachusett Mountain in Wachusett Mountain State Reservation. The lower part of the West Side has a steep section with some scrambling required. West Side Trail along this path connects to Old Indian Trail. Old Indian Trail also requires some scrambling and is difficult for some.
Getting Started
The West Side Trailhead is located on West Princeton Road. This is a dirt road. There is a small parking lot off road that fills up quickly during the year.
Taking Children
This is a good hike for children. They should be watched when hiking Old Indian Trail due to its steepness and rocks.
