Swan Creek Trail
Overview
This is a moderate one way trail in Custer Gallatin National Forest.
This is a terrific hike for people staying in the Swan Creek campground, and though it's in the incredibly busy and popular Gallatin Canyon, this hike is much less travelled than others.
The hike follows Swan Creek for most of the way, with a few ascents out of the canyon. It's a lush area in the summer with thick vegetation, making this a beautiful change from some of the drier hikes around the area.
Getting Started
Access is from the parking lot, which has plenty of room. Trailhead can also be reached by foot from the nearer campground.
Taking Children
Good hike for kids, with lots of spots to splash around in the creek on hot summer days.
