Black Forest Trail - Northern Section
Overview
This is a moderate one way trail in Tiadaghton State Forest.
This is a section of the 42 mile Black Forest Trail. For a 3 day hike of the entire trail, this 16 miles is what hikers can expect for day 1 of a counterclockwise hike. There are steep ascents and descents, beautiful vistas, and the possibility for wildlife. Also, there are over 20 stream crossings along the County Line Branch of Young Woman's Creek, and in high water the last few may be impassible. The Sentiero DiShay and Blackberry Trails can be used as a high water route.
Getting Started
If arriving by PA 414, park at the large lot before the bridge over Pine Creek. Be sure to let the Tiadaghton State Forest office know you are parking there.
Taking Children
