Great day for a hike! I saw a pleasant amount of trail conditions (roots, mud, stream crossings, plank crossings, semi steep descents/ ascents, some flat terrain, some road and ATV crossings, fields with views*and raspberries* ) upper trail conditions were dry and less technical but enjoyable. I Met a man on the trail by Owego hill who had detailed the trail from a recent storm. “Smashing job sir!” Him and others that take care of hiking trails regardless if they own sections or not, really make the experience great! Mercedes falls was a cool little spur, the “Tiny Pond” spur was sarcastically cute. It needs a bit of detailing done. All the trails are well marked and full of info. There is a cool little lookout along the south western end of this trail. This 5.7mi hike turned into a 6.8mi hike quick. So many different loops and shoots and spurs within this loop. If I were to hit every single one I think I could have hiked close to 10 mi. My overall pace was a little better than 2 mph. I stopped over a dozen times to take pics, have a snack and take in God’s creations. It’s a great hike to test out your footwear and balance on different terrain. NOTE: Daisy Hollow rd. was under construction today. The boys were laying down tar and stone on much of it. Patching some spots as well. They were all done by the time I got back to the car. It was a smooth ride back home fir sure.
