Overview
This is a moderate one way trail in Tiadaghton State Forest.
This is a section of the 42 mile Black Forest Trail. For a 3 day hike of the entire trail, this 11 miles is what hikers may expect for day 3 of a counterclockwise hike, or day 1 of a clockwise hike. There are both rough steep sections, and parts along gravel roads. Vistas are plentiful, especially along the descent to Slate Run Valley.
Getting Started
There is ample parking before the bridge over Pine Creek (if arriving via PA 414), although there are a few smaller lots along Slate Run Road.
Taking Children
This may be a difficult hike for young children.
