Kentucky Falls Trail #1376
Overview
This is a easy out & back trail in Siuslaw National Forest that is about 3.7 miles in total. There is a pit toilet at the trailhead, but no other services. Practice good trail etiquette and always give those walking uphill the right of way by stepping to the side so they can pass. On the way back to the trailhead you will be gradually going up in elevation, but it isn't bad at all. Bring water and LEAVE NO TRACE BEHIND. Bring your camera because there are lots of great photo ops. Happy Trails!
Getting Started
Make sure you download the directions and follow closely on your GPS because there is no cell service in most of that area. Also the road is narrow and very curvy. There are sections of gravel road and paved. This trail is remote so bring water and snacks, but do not leave any litter or TP. Ladies if you absolutely can't wait do one of the following & you have to use TP then step off the trail & dig a 6" deep hole (cat hole) to urinate into as well as bury your TP in. Do not leave TP sitting on the ground as its just rude and unsanitary. LEAVE NO TRACE BEHIND. Have fun and Happy Trails!
Taking Children
Children do just fine on this trail, but beware along 2 sections of the trail that are a bit rocky. This is along the switchbacks and just below the first waterfall.
