This is a difficult one way trail in Ross Lake National Recreation Area.
This trail goes by Hidden Hand Pass, May Creek Hiker, May Creek Boat, Rainbow Point, Devil's Junction, Devil's Creek, Lodgepole, Lightning Creek Stock Camp, Lightning Creek Boat Camp, and Desolation.

Desolation Duo Marathon
From Colonial Creek Campground, runners are transported to the Happy Panther trailhead, which quickly descends to the shores of Ross Lake. A boat shuttle brings runners to the foot of Desolation peak, where they immediately begin their run with an out-n-back 4,500’ climb to the summit. Back at the lake, runners follow the East Bank trail for 18 miles of moderate, rolling traill with expansive views of the North Cascades. This run finishes at Highway 20 where a shuttle brings folks back to the Colonial Creek basecamp.
