Overview

This is a moderate loop hike in Michaux State Forest.

This trail goes by Appalachain Trail Midpoint (Legacy) and Sunset Rocks. As is typical along the Appalachian Trail in Pennsylvania, there are many rocks along this hike!

Getting Started

From the Pine Grove General Store, find the Appalachian Trail (White Blazes) and proceed South on the Trail (Left if looking at the front of the store. After passing the mansion and crossing the road, you will enter the forest. Enjoy the scenery, and keep and eye out for the halfway marker. Shortly after the marker you'll come across the Toms Run Shelter. You'll be making a left shortly after, making your way up to Sunset Rocks. After the viewpoint, you'll make your way back to the start point.

Taking Children

Children can absolutely do this hike! Make sure to provide plenty of time, as it almost 7 miles. This should not be a child's first hike.
