hiked on 1 august. beautiful weather. took the first shuttle from the sports store in Waterton (forgotten the name). they dropped us off at cameron lake at 8 am. for the first 2 hours had the trail to ourselves. fantastic variety of different terrain. no bugs, few huckleberries. the trail winds through several different terrain types, from forest to burned over areas up and over the divide and down to a series of wonderful lakes. I'm afraid of heights and struggles on one section that had only a narrow path along a very steep scree fields but if I can make it anyone can :) as the day progressed we were passed by some trail runners and guides in training but there were few. morning departures gives you the trail to yourself most of the way. stunning views along the whole path. 🐻🍑✅ on weekdays
