Old Loggers Path(edit)

Overview

This is a moderate loop trail in Loyalsock State Forest.

This trail follows many old logging grades and, for the most part, is a gradual trail. There are, however, steep parts that may be difficult for beginners. That said, this is the perfect trail for a first multi-night backpacking trip. There are shelters located at the Sprout Point Vista and Doe Run.

Getting Started

There are many parking areas throughout the trail, but the trailhead is located in Masten, PA. The is ample parking at the trailhead.

Taking Children

This is a very tough hike for young children, but a great first multi-day backpacking trip for teenagers.
