Overview
This is an easy one way trail in Custer Gallatin National Forest.
This hike begins in Hyalite Canyon, and cuts across the ridge to South Cottonwood. It meanders through pine forest, making a gradual uphill climb.
A shorter out-and-back hike can be made to History Rock, a large sandstone outcropping covered in engravings that are years old.

Great hike for kids since the ascent is gradual.
