Overview
This is a moderate loop trail to Ox Bow Lake in Shenandoah River State Park.
This trail goes by Commercial Campground.
This is one of my absolute favorite places to hike. Although not completely flat, there are few really steep hills. The hike along the river is fantastic. One of my favorite aspects of the hike are the trail markers, which are large and color coded, making navigation a cinch.
Getting Started
Park near the horse barn. The trail head is just outside the parking lot.
Taking Children
A good hike for children. May be a little long. Younger children may get bored by some parts of it.

This was a great hike (tho I would not consider it difficult) with a variety of terrain. It was really great to see the terrain change as you hiked closer to the river. The trails were really well marked and lots of views of the Shenandoah River. You can hike, run and bike the trail. Dogs were allowed when I went as long as they were on a leash.
