Great contrast to the lower desert floor hikes. The trail is easy to follow old two track with rolling hills but not very steep. The trail crosses an old burn area so the vegetation is pretty friendly. The trail from the main track fades out going to the top of the peak but the terrain is pretty easy to bushwhack. Register jar covered by an old tin can at the top.

Pinyon Ridge (AKA Wilson Peak)
An easy-to-follow trail in good condition, though from the base of Wilson Peak to the top one must choose his own way up (class 2). The trailhead is accessible either via Old Wilson Road on the west or Culp Valley Road on the east. The former has one off-camber section that may be difficult for vehicles with low ground clearance.
