This is easily accessed from U of M’s campus, and it is well worth your while. Well-trailed hills, safety beacons, gorgeous homes dotting the tree-filled landscape, and the river lines much of your course. Parking is limited. Try at the top of the hill just outside the hospital, or there are a few spots in the “pit” far below. If all else fails, park at Gallup Park and hike in from the east.

Nichols Arboretum accessed from UM Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI, USA
Took this hike at night, when we were stuck at the hospital. I’m still in admiration of the hilly landscape and complimentary river. Love this area!
