Deam Wilderness Loop featuring Peninsula Trail(edit)

Overview

This is a good beginner backpacking loop. It features mature forest, valleys, ridges and Lake Monroe. The best campsites are located along the lakeshore at the end of the Peninsula Trail. It is usually fairly popular on weekends. So finding a campsite near the lake can be difficult during those times.

Getting Started

Park at either the Grubb Ridge Trailhead or Blackwell Horse Camp. There are pit toilets at the horse camp.

This trail is not recommended for children.
